We have a dream: using F&B as a powerful tool of development for people and communities.
After 10 years of operations, more than 700,000 customers served, we deeply feel that it is about time for us to contribute to society not only with our heart but also concretely with the things we know best.
This is why we conceived a number of initiatives, gathered under “Food for Good”, through which we hope this dream will come true. Food for Good is and will be every day more one of our core corporate values, which we aim to share with all operators and people of good will.
F&B sector can be a very effective means to improve people’s life for the unprivileged both in developing and wealthy economies. The following points are just some of the reasons:
1. It can provide immediate relief to people in difficult conditions (from natural catastrophes, to economic crises)
2. It offers very interesting job opportunities to those with limited education.
3. It can be used for fund-raising through dedicated events or other specific projects.
4. It can be a powerful tool for educating people to share with the unprivileged.
Our aim at Ricciotti Group is to make full use of what the F&B can offer to achieve all that, organizing throughout the year several initiatives. Besides supplying food in charity events organized by others meant to support, we have started to develop the “Caffe Sospeso” or “Suspended Coffee” movement (started in Naples, Italy in the 19th century) to prompt people to experience the beautiful feeling of helping strangers who are in need.
Internally, we have opened our hiring to all people of goodwill, regardless of their past and educational background. Our commitment is to provide our staff with all the necessary training and mentoring to enable them to professionally grow and therefore improve their private life standards. What we need is just their will and commitment and in return they will be given the chance to reach the top position in a restaurant as mangers/chefs, within 5-7 years if starting with no experience.
As for fund-raising initiatives, besides some ad hoc events, Ricciotti is the first in Singapore to run the CrozzBorderz charity solution, an innovative IT based platform promoting several charity projects from different NGOs. The way the system works is rather unique and is a driver for people to donate more to charities. Restaurant patrons are informed in their receipt that Ricciotti will donate a percentage of their bill to a panel of charity organization; if they wish, they can log onto the Crossborderz website and select one charity project over another and also top-up payments by via PayPal.
We truly hope you share our dream and want to be part of it.
